Dan was phenomenal. Our house was built on a slab, with no basement or crawl space, so the repipe was quite a challenge as everything had to be routed through the walls and attic. We were prepared for a lot of wall demolition, but Dan was able to find clever ways to cut into the wall behind cabinets and other hidden places that made it barely noticeable. He was also able to get a contractor to bore a new pipe from the water main right into an existing hole in our bedroom closet, so there was no need to dig up the yard, sidewalk or street. Dan was responsive, friendly, flexible, calm, and resourceful, always more than willing to change the project to meet our wants and needs. And the entire project ended up costing about half of what we had been expecting. I would highly recommend Dan/River City Plumbing for any and all of your plumbing needs. He’s a joy to work with.
Dan exceeded every expectation! He is professional, knowledgeable, considerate and super tidy. At the beginning of the project Dan talked to me about what our water needs would be each day of the project and meticulously followed through. He was careful to label any fixtures that were turned off, which was hugely helpful with kids, and all of his gear was neatly contained in one spot every night. It was awesome! Our house is 112 years old so no project is ever straightforward. Dan fantastically navigated the old house tricky bits, communicating the whole way and brainstorming out best case solutions. And the inspector commented that the work was beautiful when it was all wrapped up. Dan will be our go to plumber from now on!
We had Dan replace all of the water pipes in our 100 year old house. Trust me, if you have old water pipes, especially if they are galvanized, you want to replace them. I couldn’t believe how much rust and crud was in our pipes.Dan saved us a ton of money by using PEX pipe and not insisting on ripping out walls and ceilings as two other bidders proposed. Dan was able to reach our second floor bathroom via a couple of small opening in the walls. Because he is so experienced with old houses, he knows how to do this efficiently. We got new water lines all the way out to the meter, and all though the house, with a minimum of disruption and almost zero demolition. Very impressive. Dan made sure that we always had water available throughout the process, and always communicated what was going on through the process. No surprises. If you have an old house with old plumbing, definitely give Dan a call and get a bid. He’s also a really nice guy and very interesting to talk with.

Dan Blume was amazing! He impressed us with his determination to solve multiple problems in our quirky older home. A prior owner had added a ‘second full bathroom’ that had major errors in venting. He did not cut corners and made sure everything was ‘code.’ All of his work was meticulously done and he was careful to teach us about every step of the job he performed. He has a great sense of humor on top of all this. We are lucky to have found him and would use his services again without reservation!
Dan Blume was informative, punctual, fast, and friendly. The project was completed on schedule and on budget. We couldn’t be happier with his work and will have him back for another small plumbing project. Update January 13, 2016: Again, we were pleased with his excellent work and definitely recommend him to others.
Dan just finished up our house recently, and we are so happy with him and his work! From the very beginning to the end he was totally courteous and professional. My husband works from home, so Dan always made sure to give him a heads up whenever there would be any noise, or if he had to be working nearby. Everything looks great and we’ve had no issues, no leaks or anything. He finished up the work on schedule, removed all the old pipe, and left everything as clean as before. He was really a pleasure to work with and we’ll be calling him back for any other plumbing work in the future. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a good plumber.
